Professor Gabriele Materazzi

Associate Professor in General Surgery

Since 2000 I have been dedicated to research in the field of endocrine surgery and in particular of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery. I have participated in numerous studies on the treatment of thyroid cancer, both differentiated and undifferentiated and anaplastic. I contributed to the development of minimally invasive thyroid surgery by validating MIVAT (invented in Pisa) and RATT (robotic transaxillary approach). I am part of multicenter study groups of the NIM (intraoperative monitoring of the recurrent nerve).
