Projects in the cardiopulmonary curriculum might encompass a vast variety of fields, either basic, translational or clinical. Examples are represented by in vitro studies on biochemical, molecular and cell biological aspects of blood coagulation and thrombosis, on the mechanisms of airway inflammation, on the evaluation of novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, both pharmacological and surgical, to cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. Applicants are welcome to propose different research topics within this broad area, based on their experience and goals.
