Anna Solini

Anna Solini is Associate Professor in Internal Medicine at the University of Pisa specialising in diabetes and metabolic diseases, gastroenterology and gerontology.  

Her research is mainly focused on vascular complications of diabetes (nephropathy and cardiovascular disease), hypertension in diabetes and mechanisms of systemic and tissue-specific inflammatory responses.  She has been invited to speak at over 230 national and international meetings. She is a member of a range of national and international committees, including the Steno Research Collaboration committee. She has published 179 peer-reviewed journal articles (I.F. 1110) and 25 book chapters, and serves as regular reviewer for several journals, including Lancet DE, BMJ, DOM, JASN; Diabetes; Diabetologia; JCEM. She is also a member of the editorial board of several journals.
