Research project: Clinical applications of cardiac computed tomography and coronary computed tomography angiography
Supervisor: Prof. Anna Sonia Petronio

As part of the PhD Course in Clinical Pathophysiology of the University of Pisa – Cardiopulmonary Curriculum – my research focuses on advanced cardiac imaging, specifically on some of the numerous clinical applications of Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA), a sophisticated imaging technique in constant evolution and increasing use both in Europe and worldwide. Its applications influence many aspects of the clinical practice in the cardiovascular diseases’ field, from prevention to screening and stratification of patients and finally to their therapeutic management and follow-up. Partial results of the ongoing research projects have been presented at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.
