Marco De Carlo

I obtained the medical degree summa cum laude at the University of Pisa and at ‘’Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna’’ in Pisa. I then obtained the degree in Cardiology and the PhD summa cum laude at the University of Pisa. Since 2006, I am vice-director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Professor at the School of Specialization in Cardiology of Pisa University. I have authored 196 scientific papers, with 14,000 citations and an h-index of 41, including the 2011 and 2017 Guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) on Peripheral Arterial Diseases.

My interests include acute coronary syndromes, coronary interventions, transcatheter valvular interventions, and peripheral artery disease. I served as Chairperson of the Working Group on Aorta and Peripheral Vascular Diseases of the ESC, and as member of the ESC Congress Programme Committee
