The aim of the English for Research Publication and Presentation Purposes course<\/strong> (C1 Level) is to help the first year PhD candidates of this PhD Course to develop both their academic writing skills<\/strong> and academic speaking skills.<\/strong> PhD candidates will learn to handle all the writing strategies in order to write effective scientific articles<\/strong> and become aware of the different research approaches (Quantitative, qualitative and Mixed method). They will then be trained on how to give a Paper Presentation at International Conferences<\/strong>. The overall aim will therefore be that of helping students gain a cross-cultural competence when writing and speaking for an international academic community. It is only by giving PhD candidates the above-mentioned competences that they will be able to obtain international visibility both for their research field and their prospective work environment. The course will be held at the beginning of the 1st<\/sup> Year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

English for Research Publication and Presentation Purposes (C1+)<\/strong>\u00a0consolidates and deepens the writing and speaking skills of the previous course through other tasks, such as\u00a0\u201cWriting a Scientific Proposal, \u201cWriting the PhD Dissertation\u201d, \u201cWriting the Cover Letter\u201d, \u201cResponding to Peer Reviewers\u201d, \u201cEditing one\u2019s own Scientific Paper\u201d, \u201cPlanning the Poster Presentation\u201d, \u201cPreparing the PhD Defence\u201d and \u201cPresenting the State of Art of the PhD Research Project\u201d.<\/strong>\u00a0The overall aim is to allow the PhD candidates to tackle all the writing and speaking tasks which will allow them to give a boost to their PhD Professional Profile thanks to a highly sophisticated cross-cultural approach towards the various academic writing and speaking conventions.\u00a0The course will be held at the beginning of the 2nd Year.<\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The PhD Course in Clinical Physiopathology offers his students the \u201cStatistics for research\u201d course. The course is open for 1st year students: its aim is to provide the knowledge of Descriptive and Inferential Biomedical Statistics. At the end of the course the PhD candidates will be able to use the software for the data analysis (XLSTAT, R and Comprehensive Meta-analysis) and to evaluate the scientific literature.<\/p>\n
