the essential methodological skills needed to carry out research activities in the cardiorespiratory field.<\/p><p>The expertise available within the Academic Board will make it possible to develop basic, translational and clinical research projects in various areas of cardiology, pulmonology, cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery.<\/p><p>The scientific training of the PhD candidates therefore addresses, in a multidisciplinary way, the biochemistry, biology, pathophysiology and clinical aspects of diseases of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.<\/p><p>The programme of lectures and seminars is delivered by members of the Academic Board, by experts from national and international institutions, and by professionals from the technology industry.<\/p><p>The scientific training pathway is based on experimental work carried out in the laboratories and facilities of the proposing Department under the supervision of a Tutor.
