Elia Giusy

Giusy Elia is a Ph.D. student in Clinic Physiopathology at the University of Pisa. Her research project is under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Antonelli, and is focused on a preclinical evaluation of immune checkpoint inhibitors in the field of thyroid cancer. Different studies found that if patients in treatment with Immunotherapy develop endocrine immune related adverse events, they show better clinical outcomes. Therefore, the aim is to show that autoimmune thyroid disorders in thyroid cancer will somewhat lead to a destructive thyroiditis of the tumoral tissue by Immunotherapy; then reasonably increasing the number of responders. Her researches have been published in more than 50 articles on International Journals (H index 13).
